Welcome to the Encyclopedia of the Jewish Riverlands, the encyclopedia for the Riverlands Jewish Archive!
Founded in 2024, the Riverlands Jewish Archive is a collaboration between the Western Kentucky University Department of History, Indiana Jewish Historical Society, and the various Jewish communities in the region. Our primary goal is to preserve the rich history of Jewish communities along in the Mississippi and Ohio River valleys.
Our new encyclopedia documents the Jewish history, large and small of the Riverlands region, including Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. We have a number of pages dedicated to a variety of subjects including personal/familial histories, Jewish organizations, stores, and congregations across our six-state region.
