Boone County's biggest contribution to Indiana's Jewish history is the Myron S. Goldman Union Camp Institute, informally referred to as GUCI ("Gucci"). The camp opened for its first season in 1958 and has been an institution for Indiana Jews ever since. The camp sits on a 52-acre wooded countryside near Zionsville. Initially run by the Ohio Valley Federation Council, a subsidiary of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the Union for Reform Judaism currently operates the camp.
