Auburn's only connection to Indiana's Jewish history comes through the Auburn Automobile Factory. Founded in 1900, the Auburn factory operated in Auburn until 1937 when the company shuttered. Their main administrative building of the factory, erected in 1930, was designed by renowned Indiana architect Alvin M. Strauss. The building is an example of the Art Deco style popular in the 1920s and 1930s.
